This master-planned community offers a range of housing options. Around 40 percent of Rossmoor’s 6,700 homes are duplexes and four-plexes with individual gardens. People & Lifestyle

Rossmoor is home to around 9,500 residents aged 55 and over. The community is guarded by 24-hour security while offering residents access to a range of healthcare and counseling services, as well as numerous activity groups and adult education classes.

 

Rossmoor has more than 200 community groups, clubs, and organizations, ensuring that there is always a wealth of social gatherings and activities to choose from. Regular excursions and day trips to nearby areas are available, and Rossmoor even organizes elaborate overseas excursions that have included Mexican cruises and African safaris. Staff is also available to help with handiwork, landscaping, and many other daily tasks.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Rossmoor’s sole restaurant is The Creekside Grill, which opens from lunch through dinner during the week and from breakfast on the weekend. Located within the Creekside complex’s social building, The Creekside Grill overlooks Tice Creek and the greens of its golf course. Its eclectic dinner menu includes filet mignon, seafood, and Italian-influenced pasta dishes. This vibrant community hub offers live music on Friday nights, with Syria Berry performing R&B, slow jazz, and classic tunes. Creekside also has a full-service bar pouring beer, wine, and cocktails.

 

Many more dining choices are just two miles away in downtown Walnut Creek. Highlights here include Fleming’s for steaks and wine, Il Fornaio for authentic Italian cooking, and Va De Vi for Spanish-style small plates. Walnut Creek’s upscale Broadway Plaza shopping center has more than 80 stores and restaurants.

Things to Do

Rossmoor has been designed to provide residents with a wide range of first-class amenities. The Event Center has several large rooms designed for dinner dances, orchestral concerts, piano recitals, dramatic performances, and singing groups. The Event Center also boasts a full-service kitchen capable of catering for events of up to 400 people.

 

Rossmoor has two NCGA-rated golf courses, including an 18-hole championship course and a smaller 9-hole course. Other golfing amenities include a 10-station driving range, three practice greens, and an area for practicing pitching and sand shots.

 

Rossmoor’s state-of-the-art Tice Creek Fitness Center has machines for cardiovascular and weight training and studios for exercise and dance. There is also a spa and exercise and lap pools. The Fitness Center’s expert staff provides both group and personal training classes. The lap and exercise pools at Tice Creek Fitness Center are open throughout the year, while the outdoor Hillside and Dollar pools are open from March through November. Aerobics and exercise classes are available at all of Rossmoor’s swimming pools. Other sports facilities include eight tennis courts a Table Tennis Center with five tables, three championship lawn bowling greens, three regulation bocce ball courts, and a Billiards Room.
