Danville is a charming historic town in Contra Costa County’s San Ramon Valley. Many buildings remain from Danville’s early development as a farming community along the South Pacific Railroad in the 19th century. Other neighborhoods grew during the 1940s, and between the 1970s and ‘80s, Danville evolved into a suburban community. A safe, community-oriented place with an idyllic small-town vibe, Danville is flanked to the west and east by the Las Tamplas Ridge and Diablo Range, while the Iron Horse Region Trail’s biking, hiking, and equestrian paths run through the length of the community.
Danville real estate includes many grand single-family homes and estates in a range of architectural styles. The gently rolling terrain gives many properties incredible views of the majestic Mount Diablo.

Interstate 680 runs through the heart of Danville, connecting it to nearby towns such as Walnut Creek and Pleasanton, making it possible to commute to San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. Danville’s outstanding local schools and peaceful atmosphere make it a popular home for young families.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Centered on Hartz Avenue, Danville’s picturesque historic downtown area offers dozens of chic restaurants and boutiques.
Bridges combine flavorful Californian and Asian cuisine with great wines and cocktails in a sophisticated space. The recipient of multiple Diners’ Choice Awards,
Incontro is a vegan-friendly Italian restaurant with delectable pasta and antipasti dishes. A short distance south of downtown at the Livery Shopping Center,

Downtown’s unique boutique shopping options include upscale pet store
Molly’s Pup-Purr-ee, which stocks high-end accessories and special treats for both cats and dogs. Danville also has several shopping centers with a mix of familiar and locally-run retailers and restaurants.
Danville Square’s highlights include Trader Joe’s and tasty lunch options at
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches. Blackhawk Plaza features dozens of stores, services, fitness studios, kids academies, and restaurants in a pretty open-air plaza built around a central water feature. Blackhawk Plaza is also home to a multi-screen movie theater and fascinating Old West exhibits at
Blackhawk Museum.
Things to Do
The Village Theatre & Art Gallery in downtown Danville is a delightful cultural venue housed within a hall that first opened in 1873. The Village Theatre offers regular comedy and music performances, art exhibitions, and theater and music-focused classes and workshops.
Behring Auto Museum is a signature permanent exhibition space at Blackhawk Plaza’s Blackhawk Museum. The museum showcases a rotating lineup of more than 40 classic cars, from 19th-century prototypes and elegant 1930s luxury vehicles to high-end contemporary sports cars.
Danville’s grand
Fourth of July Parade attracts as many as 40,000 spectators. In late November, the festive Lighting of the Old Oak Tree is the centerpiece of a fun evening featuring visits from Santa and the Snow Angel, street-corner musicians, and hot cocoa and cider.
